Local flavors, fenua products, local production

In Moorea, local producers don't just grow crops: they also transform the island's raw materials into identifiable artisanal products. In terms of beekeeping, Miel de Moorea Hoahere and Abeilles Moorea Academy produce local honey from the nectar of the island's many flowers and offer beekeeping training for those who want to learn the basics of the craft. Tropical fruits are showcased by artisan ice cream makers such as Les Sorbets de Moorea, which offers homemade sorbets and ice creams made from fresh fruit and seasonal flavors (pineapple, mango, coconut, etc.). Local juice production is led by the Rotui brand, a long-standing player in the tropical fruit juice market in Moorea since 1981. The company produces a wide range of nectars and pure juices (Queen Tahiti pineapple, mango, banana-vanilla, soursop-lemon, multifruit, etc.) in accordance with quality standards and without preservatives. It employs local workers and supports pineapple, papaya, guava, passion fruit, and noni growers, contributing directly to the island's agricultural economy. In the field of innovative processed products, Tofu Mooz is a small local producer of organic tofu made from soybeans and recognized as one of the first organic processed products in Moorea. The tofu is used in local recipes and offered fresh to consumers, with variations such as smoked or lacto-fermented tofu. Other players such as Moorea Miam and Autera'a Moorea promote local products in artisanal preparations (jams, chutneys, syrups, delicacies) made from Moorea's fruits, plants, and raw materials. I'a Here works with marine raw materials to offer terrines and other preparations made from fresh fish. Food & CookLab, a facility located in Paopao, offers a collaborative space and culinary workshops to produce and promote local foods while sharing expertise in Polynesian cuisine. Finally, Retia Saveur Coco offers coconut-based products (oil, creams, culinary preparations), taking advantage of this natural resource of the island to create handmade products.
